READ-ME PAGE--Scavenger Hunt #3

Critical Writing—from Practical Strategies for Critical Thinking, pp. 113-174

Some important points from this section of our text:

The author states that "writing of all kinds is a powerful tool for organizing and clarifying your thinking" (113).  Believe it and try it.

Read and enjoy the Silhouette Romance discussion and the author's example, pp. 115-122.

Read carefully pp. 124-126 to learn how to use Linda Flower's three questions.  Applying these questions will help you determine your purpose when writing.

Read carefully the section Setting Up a Personal Cycle of Revision, p. 167.  Then review each of the three cycles of the revision process, pp. 168-9.  Note carefully the questions writers can ask themselves about their drafts.
