On the
Trail of the Romantics Self-Guided
Nature Walk Due--Wednesday, May 19,
2010 (10 points possible) A suggested SCC itinerary
follows, but in the pristine spirit of Romanticism, you may discover your
own. Note: While walking collect in your memory sights,
sounds, aromas, feelings, insights. A suggested itinerary: Let your walk take you
between the Lair and the Library, past the Agricultural Sciences Building, to
the river path (you will find its entry near the used-brick Administration
Building), along the river path for a bit, up from the river path near the
Health Sciences Building, to the center of the SCC Commons—the amphitheater (the
Alien Landing Pad). Spend a bit of
time there communing. Then, in the spirit of the Romantics,
craft a poem of at least eight lines (two 4-line stanzas would do) to
commemorate one or more aspects of your Nature Walk experience. Suggestion: You might begin creating your poem while
you walk or as you commune. Bring your poem to class to
share. |
