First, read as many of Dorothy Wordsworth’s journal entries as necessary to get a feel for the style and content. As you read the entries, ask yourself what her purpose is, who her audience is, and what the general content is of her typical journal entries.

Next, using a day in your life, write your own journal entry mimicking Wordsworth’s. Try for the same tone and type of content as Wordsworth achieves, but use your own life as your subject.
