Due: by midnight, Sunday, January 21. Please e-mail the completed assignment to me as an
attached Word file. In the subject line of your e-mail, please put Lit 271. Directions: In a
previous week we read the following excerpts from the Hebrew Bible. P The
Hebrew Bible, pp. 34-38 in our textbook. P Genesis, pp. 39-66 in our textbook. 1. First, please
return to the above pages for a brief review before moving to the next step. In particular look for qualities of the
Hebrew God of Abraham, Noah, and Joseph. 2. Next, please consider the teachings of Jesus in this week’s assignments, most particularly his parables. After doing so, please list the qualities of the Christian God Jesus presents to his audience. 3. Then, for
this writing assignment, first write a paragraph or two presenting the
essential differences between the Hebrew God and the Christian God as they
are portrayed. 4. Finally, end this writing assignment with a paragraph explaining why
the differences. Note: Please
remember that since this is a ‘W’ course, the quality of your writing will in
part determine the points you earn.
