Directions:  Please complete the following steps leading to creating, revising, and submitting your final essay.

 

Step 1:  Read for understanding and information pages 265-278 in your textbook.

 

Step 2:  Review the attached advice sheet on comparison-contrast.

 

Step 3:  Finally, using Writing Assignment #1, pages 278-279, create, revise, and submit an essay for grading by the due date.

 

 

 

 

We are rapidly approaching the end of the quarter, so please demonstrate that you are ready for the next level of writing.

 

Ø      Organization:  a clear thesis sentence at the end of your first paragraph that suggests comparison-contrast.

 

Ø      Development: a clear topic sentence at the beginning of each body paragraph as well as unity, coherence, and completeness of body paragraph details.

 

Ø      Language Use:  absence of sentencing errors (fragments, comma splices, run-ons).  Proper use of Commonly Confused Words (Zero-Tolerance Skill #1)
