Mini-Research Paper #1 Topic Posting
Here’s what to do: Once you've
chosen a subject, put it in the "Hedge"
and view it from as
many perspectives as you can. As
you do this, make a physical list of the pieces that spill out of the
"Hedge" activity. These pieces we'll call "topics." Pick
one to continue. Turn
to your journal and free-write what you already know about the topic--this
activity would count as a journal
entry. Then
it's off to the virtual library to perform a Sources Search to see what's
available for this topic. Browse the resources, trying your hand at as many
databases as you can to find likely information on your topic. Don't
forget to give the Google
Domain Search a try. You need not print out anything--this is just
a browse. aRecord any questions and/or problem you have locating
sources and resources. Bring this written list to the library when we meet
with Tim. Points will awarded to those who bring
legitimate research questions to the library, questions obviously developed
from this search. aThen, in a short
posting, please share your choice with the rest of us and explain why you
chose it. Points will be awarded for a well written
posting. Please
post your two topic and the reasons you chose it to the discussion forum Min-Research Paper Topic #1 by
the due date. More Subject/Topic Suggestions Locations Santa Monica College
