The Voltaire Appreciation Society Posting

You discover that the Voltaire Appreciation Society is planning to create a modern version of Candide and is soliciting input. Please post your responses to the following questions.

1. List three or four modern locations you might use for the update.  (What would be your settings?)

2. In the original novel, Voltaire developed plot events such as the interaction at the baron’s castle, the events on Jacques’ ship, and being taken captive by the Biglugs. Please suggest three or four events such as these that would help modernize the novel.

3. Voltaire lampooned the beliefs and behavior of his times.  What 2013 beliefs and behaviors would be your targets? Please list three or four.
