Steps to Writing Well Assignment #2

Please closely follow these steps to complete this textbook assignment:

1. First, please read Chapter 2--The Thesis Statement, pp. 31-45, of our text Steps to Writing Well.  This is a very important chapter so be sure to devote some time to it.

2. Please pay particular attention to Guidelines for Writing a Good Thesis, pp. 33-37 and Avoiding Common Errors in Thesis Statements.

3. Please complete the Practicing What You’ve Learned assignment (both parts A and B), pp. 39-40. Please record your answers in your journal and bring them to class.

4. Finally please read Using the Essay Map, pp. 41-42, and complete Practicing What You've Learned, Part A, pp. 42-3.
